Why God makes us wait for breakthroughs

In a world that values speed and instant gratification, the art of waiting often challenges our patience. But have you ever wondered, why God makes us wait? Today, I delve into the profound theme of waiting, the lessons it imparts, and why God sometimes asks us to wait.

Lessons in patience

Patience, one of the virtues that waiting imparts, is invaluable. It’s the waiting that molds us into the people God intended us to be. 

In the Bible, we find stories of individuals who endured prolonged seasons of waiting, such as Noah as he built the ark or Abraham and Sarah, patiently waiting for a child. 

As you navigate your own waiting seasons, remember that patience is a tool for growth and character development.

God’s perfect timing

Even when God’s timing doesn’t align with our own, it is always perfect. In the Bible, we encounter figures who questioned God’s timing at first but later recognized the wisdom in His plan.

Consider Joseph, who journeyed from slavery to leadership, or Mary and Martha, who faced the death of their brother Lazarus. Have faith in God’s timing, trusting that He knows what is best for you.

Waiting often serves a greater purpose in our lives. It’s in the waiting that we are transformed and prepared for what lies ahead.

Moses’ forty years in the wilderness, for example, was a season of waiting and preparation, which ultimately led to the deliverance of the Israelites.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the lessons that waiting imparts. Grant me the patience to endure and the trust to believe in Your perfect timing. May I find peace in the midst of my waiting. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
